Women Entrepreneurs Small Business Development and Training's
Grants Providing Ceremony








During a ceremony held at Al- Murshed Center for Economic Development and Investment (AMC), 9 women entrepreneurs out of 15 ladies had been qualified  to join a training course for three months, they had to undergo an extensive training course on subjects of Economic Business Planning, Accounting, and Computer Skills Training. Then they prepared their business plans for their own projects, their plans were offered to PRT and later to US Embassy. Business plans were studied and evaluated by both PRT and the Embassy on which grants were offered.
An other joyful happening is that AMC  was able to ensure a loan amount from Iraqi Al- Aman Center for every lady had graduated from the training, of course this is beside the grants they got from PRT. 
 Thursday, 3rd, June ,2010 was time to receive their grant amounts, thus for this occasion  AMC conducted its preparations and organized a unique ceremony and invited PRT  take part in the occasion .

At the beginning of the ceremony AMC's director welcomed the guests from PRT and  the graduated ladies, then Richard Moore, Economic Team Leader of PRT  presented a speech through which talked about the program and advised the ladies to get as much as benefit from the training also he recommended them to depend on themselves. Soon after that all members of  PRT presented their speeches through which they talked about their experiences and urged the ladies to start their businesses with ambitions and start their first steps.
Later,  each graduated entrepreneur talked about her project and showed her preparations to launch her business, some talked about fashion store, an other talked about stationary store, others talked hair style saloons, etc…
Then all of them showed their thankfulness , granitites, and appreciations for both AMC and PRT toward the great  opportunity they have got to have their own businesses and have their own independent incomes.
After that grant amounts were distributed on the ladies by PRT who  wished them best of luck .
 Finally, Mrs.  Dalia Jasim, AMC's  Executive Director, declared that AMC' door is always open for the ladies to get any help they might need and thanked PRT for their patience and cooperation in implementing the program.
The program of Commercial Legal Clinic
is a program implemented by AMC in  which lawyers will offer legal consultancies to the audience seeking  start and operate businesses. The program will pay grants to the trainees who will be trained at AMC on topics of Business Planning, Marketing, Accounting, and Computer .Seminars  will also be held through which lawyers explain legal needs and requirements of obtaining legal permits.
AMC used to prepare and present a weekly TV show on a local screen called “ KirkukTV” under the name of " Commercial Legal Clinic".




The show is broadcasted  live on Saturday 7:30 PM. Within  the show  AMC’ lawyers accompanied by other officers of the Iraqi Institutions’ are hosted and they are all explain Iraqi laws regarding investment and economic affairs. Also they shed light on all obstacles that paralize the development of community.
They also urge people to get training, apply for loans, and start businesses. 
  Five shows of the program had been broadcasted on the following topics:
 Unemployment.
 Investment Laws.
 Labour Laws.
 Citizens' Rights and Duties.
 Government institutions' roles in employing and creating employment opportunities.
 Religion and Shariea's role on  importance and priority of employment.
PRT to Congratulate AMC
During a celebrating party held on March, 1st, 2010 at AMC and due to the graduation of Nine ladies of the program of  Women Entrepreneurs Small Business  Development and Training, Kirkuk’s Provincial Reconstruction Team, PRT congratulated both AMC and trainees as well for the successful organizing of AMC and the trainees as a first  graduating group.
